David R. Kontny, International Subject Matter Expert; Chief of Quality Assurance, supporting the European Commission’s Ukraine Mine Detection Dog Program; and recently retired Chief of Staff, Joint Program Office for Countering IED, Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Kontny has been directly responsible for providing leadership and oversight of various U.S. Government Canine programs throughout his forty years of public service, to include his military career in the Department of Defense (U.S. Air Force), Department of Transportation (Federal Aviation Administration), the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Justice and has been an active member with Tails of Hope Foundation for over a decade.
He has been responsible for budgets of over 120 million dollars. Mr. Kontny has been an active member with Tails of Hope Foundation for over a decade and will lead the IDF Canine Project.
